Redwood Estates is part of the Lexington Hills Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). This plan will be adopted throughout Santa Clara County. RESA has been working closely with Santa Clara County Fire, Cal Fire,  the Santa Clara County Office of Emergency Services (OES), and the Santa Clara County FireSafe Council for the past five or six years to continue to improve what is known as our Community Emergency Evacuation Route.

Redwood Estates is one of the few communities that have a main thoroughfare that connects highway 17 to Highway 35 (Summit Road).  These arrows are placed on our roads to direct emergency vehicles as well as traffic that may be diverted if Highway 17 is closed due to an emergency.
