2026 RESA Community Drive Through Chipping
& Road Edge Hazardous Fuel Removal Project

Dates: July 6th - 10th
Time
: 7:30am - 3:30pm

RESA has contracted Denali Tree Service to drive through our community to clear the road edges of brush. They will also be chipping hazardous fuel vegetation debris that members place at their road edges.

Two tree crews, one beginning in upper RE (Summit) and lower RE (Madrone & OSCH) will move through the community once. AFTER A STREET IS PASSED, THEY WILL NOT  RETURN. THEREFORE, PLACE ALL MATERIALS AT THE ROAD EDGE BY 7:30 AM ON JULY 6TH.

As a reminder, RESA is required by Santa Clara County Fire Department to keep our road easements free of vegetation with 2-foot clearance beyond the road edge, to a height of 14-feet on each side of the road for emergency vehicle access. Anything within these boundaries are subject to being removed**.

Materials Accepted:

  • Debris less than twenty-four inches (24”) in diameter and less than four feet (4’) in length

Materials Not Accepted:

  • Debris more than twenty-four inches (24”) in diameter and/or longer than four feet (4’) in length
  • Root balls with soil, vines (e.g., ivy, poison oak, blackberries) & leaves
  • Construction material (dimensional lumber) & wood fencing

Directions:

  • Please place debris to be chipped within 6-feet of the road edge to not block roadways.
  • Please pile brush / tree debris with large ends facing the road.

Note:

  • Any debris deemed unsafe for the program will not be chipped and left on site.

**RESA will do its best to respect member wishes to avoid ornamental plant destruction that is not within the County-mandated easement clearance for emergency vehicles. If you wish to denote an area for the road edge clearing crew to avoid that is outside of the 2-feet x 14-feet tall mandate, contact officemanager@redwoodestates.info for tape to mark off the space. RESA retains final say in the placement of tape, including moving and/or removing the tape, to ensure the County’s mandate for road safety standards are met.

Sincerely,
